Happy Thanksgiving! We are so thankful for all afterschool programs and those who help them to succeed!

Happy Thanksgiving from the team at SEEC! Our office will be closed today and tomorrow.

The Afterschool Network Leadership Team met last Friday for a mini strategic planning meeting and to discuss overall goals of the program! The Network Leadership Team guides planning and implementation of Network activities within our three goal areas: Quality, Policy, and Sustainability. Members are comprised of diverse stakeholders including afterschool programs, K-12, higher education, business &industry, policymakers, and others who represent the needs and opportunities of afterschool programs, professionals, and youth. Be on the lookout as we start to spotlight individual Leadership Team members!

We love seeing AmeriCorps tutoring programs in action! Laurynn Lauer, an Early Learning Corps tutor at YMCA of the Northern Sky – Schlossman Branch, works hard to build a meaningful sign-in experience routine for the children in her classroom. She is committed to giving students the opportunity to write their names every day, and this photo shows just how powerful a daily sign-in routine can be!

Are you looking to build your afterschool program? Check out the ND Quality Standards for Out-of-School Time Programs! These quality standards are designed to acknowledge the work you do, help take your program to the next level, and guide discussions on improving program quality. They will provide timely and meaningful feedback on program quality and help you determine program priorities. Access the standards here: https://ndafterschoolnetwork.com/quality-standards/

There's snow in the forecast, so we wanted to share some sunshine today with a Math Corps tutor spotlight! Thank you, Michelle, for shining your light with the students of Medina!

November is National Gratitude Month, but we are thankful for our tutors year-round! Today we thank DeAnn for her work at Medina Public School!

The last month has been full of in-person meetings for five ND Multi-Tier System of Supports trainings: NDMTSS Foundations - System Change & Refinement; Developing School-Wide Behavior Expectations; School-Wide Behavior Expectations Coaching & Refining; Evaluating Your System; and Tier 2 Positive Behavior Intervention Supports! We can't wait to see how our participating schools continue to grow! Curious about NDMTSS? Check out their new website: https://ndmtss.org/

Happy Halloween from the team at SEEC! Can you guess who had to be photoshopped into the group picture?
We can't wait to see how your school is getting in the Halloween spirit today!

This Halloween we're getting in the spirit and sharing a spooky statistic. There's a shortage of afterschool programming for North Dakota students! Learn more about starting a program in your community here: https://toolkit.afterschoolalliance.org/

Today is the day! Join us and afterschool programs throughout North Dakota to celebrate #LightsOnAfterschool! Help us shine a light on the impact afterschool programs are making – inspiring learning and helping youth realize their full potential. Close to 20,000 ND kids rely on afterschool every day, but for every North Dakota student in afterschool, 2 more would participate if a program were available. Share your support! #AfterschoolWorks

Keely, Director of Student Services, and Brooke, Medicaid Specialist/Occupational Therapy Assistant, were out in Denver creating Medicaid Magic last week! They are excited to bring their learnings back to the ND School-Based Medicaid Consortium!

Reading Corps tutors monitor student progress weekly. This allows tutors to compare student growth to target growth and help students "catch up" to meet grade level targets. In 2023-2024, the percentage of students across grade levels and assessments in the Reading Corps program that exceeded target growth was almost 75%!
